The "Strobels of Southern Indiana" includes three "branches" that settled along the Ohio River from about the same place in Germany at about the same time. The authors' parents, Catherine and Henry Strobel, late of Tell City, Indiana. The manuscript is the 1824 marriage record of Martin and Theresia Schiel Strobel, the authors' great-great grandparents. The widow Theresia and children came to southern Indiana in 1846.
